A week ago, my family was sick, my old $20 freezer had died and my *new* donated freezer was unfreezing unexpectedly and staying defrosted causing me to lose food, my washer died, three doors had slammed unexpectedly in my face, and I had bills I couldn’t conceive of being able to pay. Job 1: 21, the Lord gave, and the Lord hath taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord. Our dog Sabby died today. She was not quiet eight years old. A lab, we got her from a vet one stormy afternoon in 2014. A loud, boisterous, but sweet as could be dog, she stole our hearts and her doggy sister’s food. My son, Sabby’s owner, is devastated. Vienna sausage dumplings and a mother’s love

I once read a story of a mother from the Great Depression and how she put a special meal on her table for her family at Thanksgiving. The mother of this particular family was very poor. Her husband had died and things had gotten very bad for her and her children. She had managed to secure some Vienna sausages for her family and she had plans for them for Thanksgiving.
